AI for higher ed, with a new learning mode for students
Claude for Education revolutionizes learning with AI to guide critical thinking. Partnering with top universities, we're introducing Learning Mode, campus-wide access, and student programs that empower educators and learners to shape AI's future in academia.
The use of AI in schools is both controversial and inevitable. According to my 15 year old, everyone in high school is "cheating with ChatGPT". Their English teacher has resorted to requiring students to write reports only in class and in long-hand, even though phones aren't banned (which creates an obvious loophole).
It's smart for Anthropic to drive a conversation around AI use in academia provide products to equip students and educators alike.
To that end, they've announced Claude for Education, including:
Learning mode: A new Claude experience that guides students' reasoning process rather than providing answers, helping develop critical thinking skills
University-wide Claude availability: Full campus access agreements with Northeastern University, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and Champlain College, making Claude available to all students
Academic partnerships: Joining Internet2 and working with Instructure to embed AI into teaching & learning with Canvas LMS
