I built this extension after spending countless hours in Claude and realizing there was almost no visibility into what was happening behind the scenes. I wanted answers to simple questions: How many tokens am I using? What is this conversation actually costing? Has the model been rerouted or downgraded? How much context is left?
Existing tools focused on prompts and outputs, but not on transparency.
Claude Cost & Token Inspector brings that visibility directly into Claude with real-time token and cost tracking, context monitoring, safety reroute detection, response quality analysis, and a built-in prompt rewriter all from a lightweight side panel.
A core goal was privacy. Everything runs locally in the browser, and your conversations never leave your device.
