CityThrone — Paid map placements by city
Put your company on the map. Literally.
CityThrone is a live world map where companies claim the #1 listing in any city. Unlike directories, sponsored slots, or pay per click ads, rank is purely by amount paid. No accounts, no algorithms, no auctions. Every city starts unclaimed at $1. Pay once, hold the top spot until someone pays more, then reclaim if you want. With 1,600 cities on one map and a live takeover feed, visibility is global, transparent, and impossible to ignore.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built CityThrone because company visibility is usually buried in search results, ad dashboards, or directories nobody browses. I wanted something you could actually see: a live world map where the #1 company in each city is right there on the screen.
What it is
CityThrone is a live map of paid #1 city listings. Pick a city, claim the top spot, and hold it until someone pays more to take it from you. Rank is purely by amount paid. No accounts, no algorithms, no auctions.
How it works
Every city starts unclaimed. First claim is $1
Pay once to hold #1 (non-refundable)
If someone pays more, they take the top spot and you drop in rank
You get an email when you're dethroned, so you can reclaim if you want
There are 1,600+ cities on the map, from major hubs to smaller ones worldwide. Open cities show as hollow rings. Held cities glow gold. There's also a live feed of claims and takeovers so you can watch the map change in real time.
What I'd love from you today
Claim your city (or a city you care about) and tell me how the flow feels
Feedback on the map UX. Is it obvious what's open vs held?
Ideas for what should come next: recurring defend fees, city categories, country leagues?
This is v1 and I'm building in public. Every claim shows up on the map immediately.
Thanks for checking it out, happy to answer anything in the comments.
