Citizen's Daily Brief
The President's Daily Brief, for everyone. Free.
A free daily intelligence brief modeled on the President's Daily Brief. 5–9 assessed items each morning — what changed, why it matters, what to watch, and how confident we are — with the sources and reasoning shown. No account, no ads. The same brief for everyone.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Michael — I build software and games at Stalefish Labs in Nashville (a BMX-jump physics simulator, an F1 fantasy app… and now this, which is a bit of a left turn).
Citizen's Daily Brief is a daily assessment of what's happening, built around the structure of the President's Daily Brief. Five to nine items each morning, each answering: what changed, why it matters, what to watch for, and how confident we are — with an evidence panel underneath showing the sources, where they agree, and where they don't.
The thing I kept snagging on: reporting is as good as it's ever been, but the layer above it — "here's what it all adds up to, with the confidence shown" — doesn't really exist for the public. Everyone gets the firehose; nobody gets the brief.
The whole pipeline is automated (Claude does clustering, scoring, and synthesis under strict structured-output constraints, with a validation pass that won't let a single-source item claim high confidence). But the AI isn't the product — the format is. Swap Claude for a room of human analysts and the product would be identical, just a thousand times more expensive.
It's free, no account, no ads, the same brief for everyone. Supporters fund it voluntarily, the way public radio works — nothing is unlocked by paying.
Happy to answer anything about the pipeline, the editorial choices, or why a skateboard-ramp guy is building intelligence briefings.
