CinemaKit + CinemaKit Studio
Shoot true RAW. Finish locally in your browser.
CinemaKit captures real Bayer sensor data for true RAW video, not simulated RAW or a filter. Shoot RAW, Log and HEVC on iPhone and Android, then process footage locally in CinemaKit Studio. Grade, stabilize, create slow motion, generate depth maps and export in your browser with no uploads or account required. Studio is free and supports CKRAW, MLV, MCRAW, CinemaDNG, ProRes, HEVC, XAVC and experimental BRAW.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
CinemaKit started from a simple idea: the cameras in our phones are often more capable than the video we are allowed to get out of them.
On many devices, especially non-pro phones and more affordable Android models, a lot of the sensor's potential gets buried under processing, compression, or software limitations. I wanted to see how far we could go by getting closer to the sensor itself.
That became CinemaKit: a camera app focused on capturing real Bayer RAW and high-quality video on as many supported iPhones and Android devices as possible, not just the newest flagship phones.
But capturing RAW is only half of the problem. You still need somewhere to actually work with it.
I first added RAW processing tools directly into the app, but there is only so much you want to do on a small phone screen. That led to CinemaKit Studio.
CinemaKit Studio is a free, browser-based workspace for RAW video. It uses WebGPU to debayer and process footage locally, so your files never need to be uploaded and you don't need an account. In a way, I think of it as something closer to Lightroom for RAW video: color correction, RAW controls, stabilization, slow motion, depth maps and export, while also supporting regular video formats.
The goal with both CinemaKit and Studio is the same: make high-quality mobile capture and post-production less dependent on expensive hardware and closed workflows.
I’m especially interested in feedback from people working with mobile filmmaking, RAW workflows, color and camera technology.
