Cineaste
Film discovery built around feeling
Cineaste is for people who feel films, not just watch them. It maps your cinema taste across 24 emotional dimensions Nocturnal, Melancholic, Neon Noir, Liminal and more and builds a personal mood profile from everything you log. No rankings, no popularity scores. Just films matched to how you actually feel.
I've been frustrated with how every platform recommends films by popularity or star ratings neither tells you anything about how a film actually feels. I wanted to build something that understood the emotional texture of cinema. Cineaste started as that experiment and grew into a full platform over 4 months. The 24-dimension mood system is the core every film gets tagged, every user gets a profile, and the matching happens by feel, not rank. Still early, waitlist is open, would love to hear what the PH community thinks is missing.

Who hunted Cineaste?
Cineaste was hunted by Eren Turap. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
