Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m an international student at a Chinese university in Shenzhen, and I’ve passed HSK 4.
While studying, I felt that HSK learners had fewer convenient digital tools than IELTS learners. I kept interrupting my reading to look up how a Chinese character was pronounced.
I built Chinese to Pinyin to make that small task easier: hover over a character or add pinyin above the text on a webpage, with tone marks to guide your pronunciation.
There are extensions for Chrome and Microsoft Edge, plus a companion website for converting your own text, copying pinyin, and practising with exercises.
What would you like to read with pinyin: articles, study notes, or something else? I’d love to hear what would make it more useful for you.
