Chiefly

The calm opposite of a to-do list. Your Chief of Mind

Chiefly is your AI Chief of Mind, a calm alternative to to-do and notes apps. Capture anything (type, speak, forward an email, drop a file) and Chiefly organizes it for you into PARAISO: Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive, Inbox, Seeds, Objectives. It learns your style, keeps your data private (never used to train AI), and adds zero pressure, no streaks, no red badges, no anxiety. Just one clear home for everything on your mind.

Hey Product Hunt 👋

I'm Mansi, on of the main the developers behind Chiefly.

This started as something I built for myself, because my brain doesn't hold things the way productivity apps assume it does. Maybe that's ADHD, maybe it's just a life with too many roles. Either way, the good idea I have in the shower is usually gone before I reach my desk.

From a blog post.

Be honest: how many note/to-do apps are on your phone right now with exactly three entries in them? I had four. Each one was a fresh start I was going to stick with this time.

For years I tried to fix that with more apps. A to-do app. A notes app. Then another notes app. One project tool for work, a different one for the side thing. Every switch added a little friction, and every app quietly became one more place I was behind. The tools meant to quiet my mind were making it louder.

I found the PARA method, created by Tiago Forte at Forte Labs. It was the first system that made intuitive sense to me, because it doesn’t organize by topic. It organizes by how close something is to action. We expanded it to PARAISO and Chiefly was our answer. It's a calm "Chief of Mind," not another task manager. You capture anything the moment it lands (type it, paste it, say it, forward an email, even paste a screenshot), and it sorts into this simple framework called PARAISO: Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive, Inbox, Seeds, Objectives.

And here’s a small thing I like: the acronym survives translation. In Spanish, the pieces are almost the same words. Proyectos, Areas, Recursos, Archivo, Inbox, Semillas, Objetivos. Still P-A-R-A-I-S-O.
And paraiso is just the Spanish word for paradise :), which is what your mind should feel like.

No streaks, no red badges, no pressure, no anxiety. Just one clear home for everything on your mind. We built it as an internal tool first (and made the framework paraiso open source) , for ourselves. It quieted a low hum of anxiety I'd carried so long I'd stopped noticing it was there, and enough people asked for access that we decided to open it up.

I'd genuinely love your honest feedback. And I'm curious: how do you keep a busy mind from dropping things? What's actually worked for you, and what hasn't?

Thanks for taking a look 🙏

Who hunted Chiefly?

Chiefly was hunted by Mansi Kaufman. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
