Chesspy
Daily logic puzzle: place chess pieces to hit every number
Chesspy is a daily logic puzzle with one rule: each number shows how many chess pieces attack that square. Place rooks, bishops and knights so every number is hit exactly and every 0 stays untouched. One piece can satisfy two numbers and break a third. A solver checks that every board can be solved by pure logic, no guessing. 20 boards a day, the same for everyone, then your Top %. Free, no ads, no account, on iPhone and the web.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Jaewon, a solo dev from Korea.
I wanted a daily puzzle that feels like Minesweeper deduction but uses movement rules people already know from chess. In Chesspy each number tells you how many pieces attack that square, and you place the pieces yourself. One rook can satisfy two numbers and break a third, which is where the fun is.
Every board is checked by a solver that only uses deductions a person can make. If a board would need a guess, it gets thrown out. So when you're stuck, there is always something left to find.
You get 20 boards a day, from 3x3 up to 6x6, the same for everyone in the world, and your Top % at the end. Sundays go up to 7x7. Version 1.1 added battles with friends on the same 5 boards using a 6-digit code (free to join) and hints that explain the reason for the next move.
It's free with no ads and no account. There's an optional one-time Pro in the iPhone app. You can also play right in your browser: https://aewnlo.github.io/chesspy...
I'd love to hear where it started to feel hard or unfair, and whether the tutorial was enough. I'll be here all day answering.

Who hunted Chesspy?
Chesspy was hunted by Jaewon Seo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
