I built this app to solve an annoying problem I had while living in San Francisco. My landlord was very strict about how they accepted rent payments given the strict housing laws for the city. They only accepted checks from a single person on the rental agreement. This was fine at first– I just used my bank Simple's BillPay. But one day Simple killed that feature so I had to do things the old fashioned way. Buy a checkbook. Buy stamps. Buy envelopes. Find a post office. I thought, why can't sending a check be as simple as sending someone cash on Venmo? So my co-founder John and I built this app to solve that problem. We know it isn't for everyone. Some banks do still support printing and mailing checks for you, but it's becoming less common over time. And while we don't send as many checks as we used to, for the occasional payment where it's required Check Supply makes it super fast and easy.
