🎉 Welcome to Rodin Gen-1
Rodin is utilizing a native 3D large generative model with over 1.5 billion parameters aims to create production-ready 3D assets. To better understand Rodin's strengths and weaknesses, we would like to first share the design principles behind it.
🔮 3D Native & Production-Ready
Rodin aims to create production-ready 3D assets, so we place significant emphasis on the structures, wireframe, and PBR textures.
As a 3D Native Diffusion Transformer, Rodin was trained on pure 3D meshes, preserved high-level geometric features such as sharp edges and hard surfaces.
🔍 Reconstruction VS. Remodel
Unlike previous 3D GenAI tools that resemble a Large Reconstruction Models, Rodin Gen-1 functions more like a language model.
Rodin aims to understand and remodel image features into 3D outputs, which is more solid and diversity though some details may differ from inputs.
If similarity of input view is your priority over Production-Ready, there are better options available.
🤖 Human in the Loop
Rodin aims to create a 3D GenAI that can collaborate with humans.
Redo is the core feature of Rodin. During the generation process, users can influence the output by adjusting the prompt and applying new prompts through Redo. Alternatively, users can simply use Redo to generate with another random seed.
🏃 3D GenAI is still immature
Over the past year, the field of 3D generation has seen a surge of excellent products.
Rodin Gen-1 offers a more unique option.
AI is just a tool. 3D GenAI is still immature. We are grateful to the 3D community for welcoming us. In the future, Rodin will introduce more features to the platform.

Who hunted Rodin Gen-1?
Rodin Gen-1 was hunted by Jillian(Jill) Li. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
