I built Ceko because of two things I kept running into.
The first was paying for basics. I logged food in MyFitnessPal for years, and when the barcode scanner went behind Premium it stopped being a tracker and started being a demo. Logging is the habit — putting the part you use every single day behind a paywall is how you get people to quit. So in Ceko logging is free: lifts, macros, barcode scanning. Pro is for the things that actually cost me money to run.
The second is that every app I tried assumed I just trained alone. I don't. I lift with the same people at the same gym, and none of that ever showed up on screen. Three things came out of that:
- Check in and your gym is automatically at war with a rival gym for the week. Every set you log scores for your side across sessions, volume, PRs and head-to-head — counted per active member, so a small gym can beat a big one. - One lifter at the rival gym is matched against you personally. - You can schedule a session with a friend and see who's lifting right now, so training together is a tap instead of a group chat.
