Cause Compass
Find nonprofits by mission, not marketing budget
Cause Compass helps you discover nonprofits that match your values, not the ones with the strongest SEO. We pull from IRS records, enrich profiles with public web data, and use AI to turn that into something you can actually browse. No rankings, no pay-to-play, no subscription. Just a free, wanderable directory of organizations doing work that matters.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm Joe, the maker behind Cause Compass.
I built this because searching for nonprofits online almost always surfaces the same well-known organizations. They do great work, but smaller and local nonprofits often get buried, even when they are doing incredible things right in your neighborhood.
Cause Compass pulls from IRS public records, enriches profiles with what organizations share publicly, and uses AI to turn all of that into something you can actually browse. A lot of the work happened behind the scenes in the data pipeline, but the goal was simple: make it as easy to find a nonprofit as it is to find a restaurant.
Coverage is still expanding, so if your state is not fully represented yet, more organizations are on the way. Would love to know if you find something worth supporting, and any feedback on what is missing or confusing is genuinely welcome.
