Hello, Product Hunt. I am Matthew — solo developer from Evesham in the Midlands, and the carp angler who built this. Why I built it. Management sims have Football Manager, Championship Manager, every football variant you can name. Carp fishing is a genuinely deep hobby — its own economics, seasons, rivalries, water science, and obsessive record-keeping — and nobody had modelled it properly. I wanted something that felt like opening an old fishing annual crossed with an FM save. So I built it. What is free vs paid. Everything described above is free. The nine lake packs (£3.99 each) unlock additional named venues with their own populations and rivals. The owner-support tiers (£2–£50) are a tip jar for development — they grant in-game cash, not competitive advantage. What I learned. Cloud save was genuinely hard. I had a save-loss bug that affected mobile players and had to rebuild the sync layer entirely — IndexedDB, browser cache, and server-side storage now all reconcile on load. It is now tested end-to-end across real devices. What is next. Tutorial polish, a second European pack, and Steam (it already runs on Electron). What I want from you. Honest feedback. What would make you play longer, or not play at all. — Matthew Carp Tycoon is a browser management sim built entirely around the world of UK carp fishing. You inherit a modest gravel pit and build outward: stock fish, hire bailiffs, set match-day schedules, manage water chemistry and biomass capacity, run day-ticket vs syndicate pricing, place swims, manage baiting strategy, and keep a weather eye on the rival fishery that will undercut your ticket prices if you let it. Five-tier progression: Hollow Pit → Day-Ticket Water → Established Fishery → Multi-Lake Portfolio → Syndicate Estate. The game does not end — the estate grows until you stop managing it. There is no combat, no loot boxes, no tutorial hand-holding. The specimen ledger records every personal best fish by weight and captor. Weather and seasons shift the catch rates. Water chemistry degrades if you overstock. The model is honest: the same decisions a real fishery owner faces, in a browser tab What is in the free game Full management loop: stocking, staffing, bait shop, match days, sponsors, water chemistry. 5-tier lake progression. Specimen ledger. Rival fisheries with dynamic pricing. Three independent save slots with cloud sync. Mobile-friendly PWA. Optional lake packs (£3.99 each via Payhip) Nine packs unlock 60+ named UK and European venues. All 9 packs: £20.99 bundle. Owner-Support tiers (tip jar, not pay-to-win) Sponsor a Swim (£2), Stake the Estate (£5), Pit Boss (£10), Estate Backer (£20), Lake Baron (£50).
