Caputchin
A CAPTCHA replaced by a quick game humans win and bots can't
Caputchin replaces the usual CAPTCHA puzzle with a short game a visitor plays for a few seconds. The games need fast reactions with no answer readable from the page, and every round is re-checked on the server, so they are easy for people but keep out bots and AI solvers. It works without collecting any IP, fingerprint, or tracking data about your visitors, and the widget and games that run on your site are open source for developers to read and restyle.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Caputchin started as a grudge against squinting at blurry crosswalks to prove I'm not a robot. What pushed me over the edge: frontier AI models now clear those image grids in milliseconds, so the test that's meant to keep bots out mostly just annoys people. And most CAPTCHAs "verify" you by quietly profiling you (cookies, fingerprinting, tracking), so you hand over your privacy just to prove you exist. I wanted the opposite. Stop proving you're human, start playing like one. So Caputchin swaps the image grids for a quick mini-game. It takes a few seconds, it's actually kind of fun, and it stores nothing about you: no cookies, no fingerprinting, no tracking. What makes it hard for machines is the format itself, a fast real-time game where you read the whole scene at a glance and react in split-second timing. A person does that without thinking. A model has to perceive the scene, decide, and round-trip an answer, and that latency wrecks the timing every time. As far as we know, it's the only CAPTCHA you can use today that frontier LLMs still can't solve. And yes, it can run Doom ;) It's early, and I'd genuinely love your feedback, especially the parts where it breaks. Happy to answer anything in the comments.
