Hey Product Hunt 👋
Built Capsy because I kept running coding agents locally, closing my laptop for coffee, and coming back to everything stopped mid-task.
Every keep-awake app only stops idle sleep. Closing the lid triggers something else, clamshell sleep, and nothing above the OS can veto it. Checked this myself: held a keep-awake assertion, closed the lid, plugged in. Asleep in 31 seconds anyway.
The only thing that actually works is a system flag that needs root, so Capsy has a tiny helper whose one job is owning that flag. Approve it once, both sides verify each other's signature, it lets go the second Capsy isn't running, dead-man's switch included so nothing gets stuck awake forever.
Caps Lock as the trigger wasn't random. It's the one key on your keyboard that does nothing else useful, and it already has a physical LED next to it, so Capsy gets a free hardware indicator without touching a line of driver code. Press it, tiny green light shows up bottom-right (and on your keyboard), you're good. Press again, done.
Made for anyone running local agents, but genuinely just for anyone who wants "close the lid, keep working" without fighting macOS.
Free, ~2.7MB. This is v1.0 and I've hammered it on my own setup, but the long tail of Mac configs is huge, so tell me if it breaks on yours.
