Hey everyone, I'm Vishal — solo developer and founder of CAprep.
A bit of context on why I built this: CA (Chartered Accountancy) is one of India's most notoriously difficult professional exams. Pass rates hover around 8–12% per attempt. Students spend years at coaching centers, but the self-study side of things is genuinely broken in three specific ways.
First, finding relevant practice questions. ICAI publishes 3+ years of past papers, RTPs, and MTPs, but they're dumped as massive unorganized PDFs. Filtering down to a specific chapter or topic takes students an embarrassingly long time.
Second, getting answer sheets evaluated. CA exams are subjective — students write detailed ledger workings, tax adjustments, and legal provisions by hand. Coaching faculties either take weeks to return checked papers or never do at all.
Third, late-night doubt resolution. When you're stuck on a balance sheet entry at 1 AM, there's genuinely nobody to ask.
CAprep is my attempt to fix all three. The question bank is indexed down to subject, chapter, and topic with one-click printable PDF generation. Students can submit photos of handwritten answer sheets and get them graded step-by-step against official ICAI marking rubrics using a GPT vision pipeline. And the AI tutor (CApex) reads handwritten ledger photos and walks through the working notes.
It's a freemium product, live today on web and Android. I'd love honest feedback on the landing page, the AI evaluation approach, or anything else that feels off.
