I moved to Canada and could not answer a simple question: on this wage, what actually lands in my account? Most calculators answer a different question. Plenty convert an hourly rate to a monthly figure and stop there, before tax — so "$25/hr" becomes $4,333 a month, when in Ontario you actually keep about $3,503. That gap is roughly $830 every month, and nobody tells you. So CanPay Insights computes the whole thing: federal and provincial income tax, CPP and CPP2, EI, and Quebec's QPP and QPIP, for all 13 provinces and territories. Hourly, salary, or a timesheet with shift premiums, unpaid breaks and overtime. Two decisions I would make again: 1. One engine, and an audit that blocks the build. Every dollar figure printed anywhere on the site — articles included — is recomputed from the same tax engine before release. If a number in an article disagrees with the engine, the build fails. It has caught me more than once. 2. Ten languages, chosen from who actually works here: English, French, Chinese, Punjabi, Hindi, Tagalog, Spanish, Ukrainian, Korean, Vietnamese. The people most likely to be underpaid are often the least likely to be reading tax rules in English. Free, no signup, no ads. There is an iOS app with the same engine. Happy to answer anything about the tax logic — and if you find a figure you think is wrong, please tell me. I would rather fix it than defend it.
