Cairn
Native task views for Markdown files you already own
Cairn turns Markdown tasks in your Obsidian vault or any folder into fast native Today, Upcoming, Inbox, Pool, and Search views on iPhone and iPad. Every edit is written back to the originalmd file. No account, proprietary database, ads, analytics, or lock-in. Free.
I built Cairn because I wanted the speed of a native iPhone task manager without moving my tasks out of the Markdown files in my Obsidian vault. Cairn reads and writes the original files, so there is no proprietary database or cloud to trust. I’m launching it free, with no account, ads, or analytics. I’d especially appreciate feedback from Markdown and Obsidian users about compatibility and the mobile workflow.

Who hunted Cairn?
Cairn was hunted by Younghun Jeong. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
