BuyWise
Spot fake reviews before you buy. 5 retailers. Free.
Fakespot shut down and left millions of shoppers without a fake review checker. BuyWise fills that gap — and does more. Works on Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy & eBay right in your browser. No copy-pasting URLs. Get an A-F trust grade with sub-scores: verified purchases, review velocity, rating patterns & sentiment. Free, no account needed. Pro tier adds AI-powered analysis that tells you why a product scored the way it did.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm the maker of BuyWise, and here's why I built it.
Last year I was shopping for a portable monitor on Amazon. 4.7 stars, 2,000+ reviews, seemed like a no-brainer. It arrived and it was terrible - dim screen, dead pixels, wouldn't hold a signal.
When I went back and actually read the reviews, the pattern was obvious: hundreds of generic five-star reviews posted within days of each other, most from accounts with no purchase history. The stars lied.
That experience sent me down a rabbit hole. I looked for tools that could help - tried a few browser extensions and review checkers but they either only worked on Amazon, gave a single score with no explanation, or just stopped working. (Fakespot's shutdown wasn't surprising to me by then.) So I started pulling apart the reviews manually, then wrote scripts to do it faster - verified purchase ratios, how reviews cluster over time, whether the sentiment in a review actually matches the star rating.
Instead of giving you a single opaque number, BuyWise breaks it down into an A-F letter grade with transparent sub-scores. You can see exactly why a product scored the way it did.
Free tier gives you the grade and basic breakdown on Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and eBay - no account needed. The paid tier adds AI-powered analysis that reads through reviews and explains exactly why a product scored the way it did.
I built this because shoppers deserve better tools than a star average controlled by sellers. Would love your feedback — what would make BuyWise more useful for your everyday shopping?

BuyWise was hunted by Sam Narma. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
