What inspired you to build this? What problem were you trying to solve?
Every time tracker I looked at — Clockify, Toggl, Harvest — eventually hits a paywall. Basic time tracking shouldn't require a subscription. I wanted something free, simple, and self-hostable: track a timer, tag it to a project, see where your time actually goes. No premium tier gatekeeping the features you need on day one.
How did your approach or process evolve while working on this launch?
I started as minimal as possible — just start/stop a timer and log it against a project. Once that core loop worked, I layered on the rest: project colors, notes on entries, and finally report totals with a project chart so people could actually see their time, not just record it. Kept scope tight the whole way so it stayed something you could set up in five minutes rather than a bloated app pretending to be simple.
