Who hunted Bunsho?
Bunsho was hunted by Koundinya Gavicherla. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hello Product Hunt, I am Koundinya, maker of Bunsho.
Bunsho is a desktop manuscript editor for long fiction that checks your story for continuity errors when you ask it to. Plot holes, timelines, a character knowing something they shouldnt have known in short the thing which can make a story logic break.
Why I built it?
Every long book or series eventually contradicts itself and the tools writes use today either do nothing about it or want to rewrite your prose themselves which means losing the authors voice. I wanted something that behaves like a script supervisor on a film set. It watches, it flags, it never touches your voice.
Three decisions that shaped it.
1. Local First: Your manuscript stays on your machine not in someones cloud. As an author of an unfinished manuscript you would want that.
2. Checks are deliberate, Not automatic: Nothing runs while you type. You ask for a chapter check or a review of what changed, you see what it costs, you decide.
3. It suggests, it doesn't write: AI inserted prose flattens an authors voice, so Bunsho never does it.
The editor is free. AI checks runs on credits, so you only pay for the checks you ask for.
I would love to hear the continuity errors that have bitten you in a long project, and what you would want flagged that nobody flags today.
Write Fearlessly.
