Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built BukaBoom because most kids' apps ask children to watch. I wanted one where the child does the reading.
How it works: your child picks a fairy tale (Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Thumbelina and 50+ more), taps the mic and reads a short phrase aloud. The app listens, words light up as they're read correctly, and the illustration opens piece by piece until the page is complete.
A few things I cared about:
🔒 Privacy: speech is recognized on the device, so the child's voice never goes to a server
🌍 8 languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Korean, Chinese, Russian, great for bilingual families and kids learning English as a second language
⭐ Stars can't be bought: rewards are earned only by reading
🚫 No ads
