Buildhorn: CI/CD Alerts
Know the instant your build breaks
Buildhorn watches your CI pipelines and notifies you the moment a build fails, right on your Apple device. Get push notifications with custom sounds for failures and turn your home screen into a build-status dashboard.
Hey everyone! My name is Darryl, I'm the maker of Buildhorn.
I built Buildhorn as my submission for the Shipaton hackathon 2026 (https://www.shipaton.com/). I usually build for non-technical users, so for the hackathon I wanted to push beyond my comfort zone by building a developer tool instead.
When I searched the app stores for something similar I could only find the GitHub app offering similar functionality. That looked like a good niche to work in, improve on, and also have some fun with. 😺
The end result is Buildhorn which sends push notifications for breaking builds. You can customise the alert sound from a preset list to make those build failures sting a little less. Choices include a DJ horn, drum loops, smooth jazz, and the very memeable sad trumpet sound! 🎉 🎺
You can also add small and medium sized widgets to your home screen to track individual or multiple builds, mix and match combinations together to build your own custom monitoring dashboard.📱👀
The first release supports GitHub Actions, with more CI providers planned depending on uptake.
Buildhorn is aimed at indie developers, engineers on the move, and small engineering teams who need build updates with minimal setup. 👩💻 ✈️ 🧑🤝🧑
I'm really proud to be launching this and would love to hear your feedback. I hope you find Buildhorn useful for your needs!
