Hey Everyone 👋 Meet BuellerBot: a free and open-source AI bot my best friend and I hacked together over the weekend. It completely automates your online meeting presence so you can focus on what matters.
👾 Here's what it does 👾
✏️ Uses Whisper API for live transcript generation, so it's always on top of the discussion.
👂Listens for your name using keyword activation, so it's alert when you're mentioned.
🧠 Responds via your choice of GPT-4 or GPT-3.5-turbo, adding a layer of adaptability.
🪄 Leverages ElevenLabs' API to reply in your own voice, even adding in human speech idiosyncrasies like 'um' and 'like' for authenticity. This is the crux of BuellerBot -- it's the first bot I've *ever* seen that can convincingly engage for hours on end. Believe me, as college students, we've put it to the test 😉
All this magic happens in real-time, about 3 seconds total generation time — right on par with what you'd expect from a human. BuellerBot is completely open-source, and you just need an OpenAI and ElevenLabs API key to get started. It runs locally on MacOS.
This is just v1.0. Excited to see where this project goes and we're open to any feedback and suggestions ❤️
