Budgettin

Plain-text budgeting your AI assistant can edit

Hello Product Hunt 👋 Budgettin started from a small annoyance: every budgeting app made me fill in a form to record something I could have just written down. "Groceries 50" is the whole transaction. So Budgettin is a budget you type into — the category, amount and date are parsed out of the sentence. Lunch 15 yesterday works. Salary 3000 monthly works. I have abandoned budgets before — the upkeep always cost more than the answers it gave me. The part I did not expect to be the point: because the budget is plain text, other tools can work with it. Budgettin speaks MCP, so Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Cursor can read your budgets and transactions, add an expense, or answer "how much did I spend on dining this month" — without you opening the app. Setup is one API key from Settings, scoped to a single organization, revocable any time. I have run this end to end myself, so it is a thing the product does rather than a thing it intends to do. What it does today: zero-based budgets with rollover, sinking funds with targets and dates, debt snowball/avalanche, shared budgets with owner/member/viewer roles, multi-currency with live rates, web and Android. Free is free — unlimited transactions, no card. Pro and Max exist for unlimited funds/debts/members and a higher AI-query ceiling. Happy to answer anything. Especially interested if you have tried getting an assistant to touch your financial data: what would have to be true for you to trust it?
