Brrrp
An alarm powered by on-device face & hand tracking
Brrrp keeps ringing until you pass a mission — puff your cheeks, wink, or make a finger heart. ARKit blendShapes read your face, Vision reads your hand poses. Everything runs on-device, nothing uploaded. Making an expression switches your brain on, so you actually get up.
I built Brrrp because I was the person who dismissed 5 alarms every morning and went right back to sleep.
Turns out you can't stay asleep while doing a big cheek-puff at your camera. Using your facial muscles forces your brain awake, so I built an alarm around it: it keeps ringing until you pass a face (or hand pose) mission.
How it works under the hood:
🫥 ARKit face tracking. Each mission is a combo of blendShape signals (cheekPuff + mouthClose = "puffed cheeks"), judged against thresholds with a hold timer
🫰 Hand poses via Vision. The API only gives 21 hand joints, so poses like finger hearts are derived from per-finger extension signals we compute ourselves
📦 Missions are just data. New expression packs ship over-the-air, no app update needed
🔒 Everything runs on-device. No login, no server, your morning face never leaves your phone
We just shipped a K-pop pose pack. Yes, you can now be legally required to make a finger heart at 7am.
I'd love feedback from fellow devs: what expression (or gesture) would actually get YOU out of bed? And if you've worked with ARKit or Vision, I'd love to hear your stories too!
