brog
A community-funded showcase board that gives back
brog is an experiment in a different kind of online platform. Rather than extracting value from attention, ads, or user data, brog is funded directly by the people who use it. The vision is simple: a community-supported platform where meaningful posts have a place to live, operating costs stay lean, and part of the value created by the community is returned to society through charitable giving.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm a full-stack developer, and brog started from a simple observation. The internet is full of useful posts, thoughtful ideas, personal achievements, projects, and stories worth sharing. The problem is that most of them disappear quickly. Modern social platforms are designed around feeds, engagement, and endless scrolling. Even meaningful posts often get buried beneath whatever happens to be entertaining or trending at the moment. I wanted to experiment with a different model. brog is a showcase board for launches, milestones, projects, ideas, links, and stories that people believe are worth noticing. Instead of competing for attention in an infinite feed, posts are intentionally published and remain visible as part of a public board. The paid posting model serves two purposes. First, it naturally reduces noise and encourages people to think about what they post. Second, it allows the platform to operate without depending on advertising, engagement optimization, or large-scale data collection. My hope is that a simpler model creates a more sustainable platform. And if operating costs can remain low, the value created by the platform shouldn't stay with the platform alone. I believe part of that value should be returned to society through charitable giving. In other words, the goal is not simply to build another social platform. The goal is to create a place where meaningful posts have a longer life, where attention is treated with more respect, and where a portion of the value generated by the community can eventually help people beyond the platform itself. This is still an early experiment, and I'd genuinely appreciate feedback on the concept, the paid-posting model, and the long-term vision. Thank you for taking a look.
