Breadcrumb

Never lose what you've learned online

Save highlights from any web page and search everything you learn — with private, on-device AI.

Top comment

I'm launching Breadcrumb, a Chrome extension for saving and searching everything you learn online. Here's the problem: You read something useful, highlight it, bookmark it maybe. A week later you remember you read something about that exact topic, but now it's lost in 200 browser tabs and a dozen reading apps. You end up re-learning the same thing or give up and guess. Most solutions force you to export data somewhere (cloud storage, SaaS tools), or you're stuck with the default bookmark folder chaos. That's friction. That's why things get lost. Breadcrumb is simple: - Highlight any text on any web page - Everything saves locally on your machine - Search across everything you've ever highlighted - On-device AI indexes and understands what you've saved, not a cloud service No accounts. No data leaving your computer. Just your searchable learning trail that actually works. This is a free, open Chrome extension. Use it as is, or search through your highlights however you want. Curious to hear: how many important things have you learned online and completely forgotten? And what would make you actually go back and resurface that knowledge?

Who hunted Breadcrumb?

Breadcrumb was hunted by Yan Razian. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
