Brain Preflight
Airline pilot selection tests as a daily brain workout
Airlines select cadet pilots with brutal cognitive tests: working memory, mental math, multitasking, spatial reasoning. Brain Preflight turns those mechanics into a daily trainer with 2-minute rounds — 17 exercises, ranks from Student Pilot to Captain, streaks, weakness diagnostic. Prepping a selection? Targeted program, countdown, mock exams. Fair warning: it's hard on purpose — if it feels easy, flight school is calling. Free tier, offline-first, EN/FR, no aviation knowledge needed.
I built Brain Preflight because cadet-pilot prep tools are either expensive test-prep subscriptions or dry question banks — and because the tests themselves are genuinely great cognitive training, even if you never plan to fly.
So I rebuilt the selection-test mechanics from scratch as a game you actually want to open daily: 17 exercises (mental math, working memory, multitasking, spatial), ranks from Student Pilot to Captain, streaks, a weakness diagnostic, and a full mock-exam mode with a countdown for people prepping a real assessment.
The App is much more than that, and is directed to anyone worried about their brain latency, and that would like to maintain their cognitive capacity.
Tech: offline-first vanilla JS wrapped with Capacitor — no framework, no backend, no account, ships in 13 MB.
AMA and if you have an airline assessment coming up, I'd love your feedback on the mock-exam mode. 🛫
