BoxGalleria started with a conversation I had with a friend who works as a solo gypsum installation technician. He told me he had always wanted a simple portfolio website to showcase his projects, especially before-and-after work, but building and hosting a website felt too expensive and too complicated. Most of the time, he was forced to share scattered photos from WhatsApp, which made it hard to present his work professionally or keep it updated. He said it would be much easier if he could just upload photos and videos, organize them well, and share one link with clients. That conversation made me look deeper into the problem. I spoke with other small transformation-based businesses like interior designers, landscapers, and home remodelers. Some already had websites, but many were not doing a good job of showcasing the actual work that wins clients. They were often too wordy, visually outdated, or filled with static images that did not communicate value clearly. I realized many of these businesses did not need a full website builder. They needed a simpler way to present their work beautifully and professionally. That insight is what led me to build BoxGalleria. I first released the MVP in December 2025, but after onboarding a few beta testers, the feedback was clear: the UI/UX was too difficult and confusing. People struggled to know where to start and how to use it. That feedback pushed me to rethink the product. Version 2 became much more focused on simplicity, making it easier for users to experience the platform, even before signing up, and giving them more control from one place. BoxGalleria has evolved from being just an idea for online portfolios into a simpler, faster way for small service businesses and creatives to showcase their work without needing design skills or a full website.
