Hi PH! 👋
BountyHub is a platform that aims to monetize issue resolution on public GitHub repositories which is a more direct way to finance contributors than donations/sponsoring.
🚨THE PROBLEM🚨
Most github repositories have issues that remain open for a long time which is due to multiple reasons such as the lack of resources or prioritization,
Most developers don't have the time to browse random repositories on github to attempt fixing repositories they don't use or issues that doesn't affect them directly.
💡THE SOLUTION💡
The solution is be to put prizes on github issues to incentivize open-source contributors to fix issues even if there not directly affected by the issue.
This could also be a way for open source repositories to attract more contributors and for the repository maintainers to earn money contributing to their own repositories.
🎯WHY IT MATTERS🎯
Most if not all software companies rely on open source technologies to produce a better product, and sometimes these open source technologies might have bugs or missing featurs that can block the company's productivity.
