Botista Meet was inspired by a very simple but frustrating problem: live meetings and streams are happening globally, but language is still a barrier. I kept seeing great content in Zoom meetings, webinars, and live YouTube streams where many people were excluded just because they didn’t speak the original language. Existing solutions were either too complex, too expensive, or not truly real-time. The goal was to build something instant, lightweight, and practical — real-time translation that just works during live conversations, without heavy setup or technical friction. During development, the approach evolved a lot. At first, it was focused purely on accuracy. Then we realized that latency and user experience matter just as much in live scenarios. That pushed us to optimize for speed, simplify onboarding, and focus on the exact moments where translation is actually needed — meetings, live talks, and streams. Botista Meet ended up being less about “translation as a feature” and more about removing language as a blocker for real-time communication.
