Hey everyone, founder of BotHound here. The idea for this came out of my day job as a software engineer at a large tech company, where I built an internal AI-powered QA system. It turned a process that used to take days (manually reviewing thousands of documents) into something that ran in minutes. The setup was simple. Users created a checklist with a system prompt, added individual "checks" that were essentially rules written as prompts, and optionally attached tools so the LLM could pull from external data when evaluating each one. Watching teams reclaim entire days of work made me realize the pattern was much bigger than QA. A collection of prompts equipped with the right tools is basically the recipe for automating most repetitive knowledge work. With BotHound, instead of checklists with checks, you build bots with tasks. Each bot can use tools, run on a schedule, and be configured entirely through natural language. The same building block that powers a document QA bot can just as easily power a lead generation bot, a competitor watcher, an SOP automator, a blog writer, or a daily news digest. The interface stays simple (prompts plus tools), and everything else is abstracted away. My goal is to put the kind of internal tooling that large tech companies build for themselves into the hands of small and medium businesses that don't have the engineering resources to build it from scratch. Would love your feedback, criticism, and especially the use cases you'd want to see supported. I'll be in the comments all day.

Who hunted BotHound?

BotHound was hunted by Klaus Storl. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
