Hi, I'm Tonis. I built bmux because I wanted the workflow I use in tmux to work in my browser too. I wanted docs and apps side by side, separate project workspaces, and different logins in one desktop window. I also wanted my agents to browse without taking focus away from whatever I was doing. With bmux, I keep research, personal browsing, and agent work in named sessions. Profiles keep logins separate, and I can mix them in the same split layout. Agents use the CLI to navigate, inspect pages, click, type, and take screenshots in the background. When I want to check their work, I attach to their session. There are also floating reference panes, built-in keyboard click hints, and configurable Vim-style navigation. You can save layouts and detach a window while its pages keep running. I've been using it as my daily browser for a few weeks. It's free and open source, and still an early preview. Extension support is experimental: there's a Bitwarden installer, plus built-in ad blocking and Dark Reader. I'd love feedback from people who spend their day in the browser or work with coding agents. What would make this useful in your workflow?

Who hunted bmux?

bmux was hunted by Tõnis Tiganik. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
