Blenny

Organize your macOS 27 menu bar without moving your pointer

Blenny is a free, open-source menu bar organizer for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 27. Keep essentials visible, reveal occasional apps with a click, and keep the rest hidden. Arrange apps in a draft, Apply when ready, and Undo the last change. No pointer movement, simulated clicks, or Screen Recording permission. Apache-2.0 licensed; self-signed, not Apple-notarized. The website has an interactive demo and the README lists compatibility limits.

Hi, I'm the developer of Blenny. Blenny gives menu bar apps three places: Visible, Revealable, and Hidden. You can draft the groups and order, then Apply when you're ready. Undo restores the previous change. Apps with several menu bar icons are managed together. It is built specifically for macOS 27 on Apple silicon. It never moves the pointer or simulates dragging, and it doesn't need Screen Recording permission. Ordering does require Device Control permission and access to the menu bar layout file. A few caveats before you try it: the app is self-signed, not Apple-notarized. Some unattributed icons can disappear while management is active, and clicking the clock won't open Notification Center until you stop management (the trackpad gesture still works). Multi-display setups haven't been tested. These limits are documented in the README. It's free, with the source available under Apache-2.0. The website has an interactive demo; the gallery's Organize view is a recreation with sample apps. If you try it, specific bug reports on GitHub would help me improve it.

Who hunted Blenny?

Blenny was hunted by fish. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
