Black Heart Book
Encrypt files. Password-protect PDFs. Seal documents
Library of Life is a suite of three privacy tools β built for people who don't want their files on someone else's server. Ever. No login. No upload. No cloud. Everything runs inside your browser using the WebCrypto API. Close the tab and nothing remains. π€ BLACK HEART BOOK β Encrypt Any File Drop any file β PDF, image, video, audio, code, anything β and seal it into abhb Babel Vault.
Hey Product Hunt π
Three tools. One idea: your private files should stay private β not on our servers, not on anyone's.
π€ Black Heart Book came first. I wanted a vault format that was truly self-contained β one file, one password, openable anywhere, forever. The .bhb (Babel Vault) format was born from an obsession with the Library of Babel concept: every file's SHA-256 hash is its unique coordinate in the infinite library of all possible documents. Black Heart Book just seals it there with AES-256-GCM.
π PDF Password came from a specific frustration β every online "lock PDF" tool uploads your file to a server first. That defeats the entire purpose. So I built one that doesn't. Your PDF never leaves your browser tab. The encryption is browser-native, no dependencies.
πΏ Sugandh came last β and it's my favorite. "Sugandh" means fragrance in Hindi. A real timestamp should leave a trace no one can remove, like a scent that stays. Bitcoin's blockchain does exactly that. A server timestamp can be backdated. A Bitcoin block cannot. Sugandh hashes your PDF page-by-page and anchors that fingerprint to a Bitcoin block β permanently, verifiably, without trusting me or anyone else.
All three share the same principle: the math is the product. No server means nothing to hack, nothing to subpoena, nothing to shut down.
Happy to go deep on the cryptography, the Babel Vault format, or how the Bitcoin timestamping works. Ask me anything π€
