Birdy: Live in Sync
A private cycle-syncing app for food, fitness and flow
Birdy helps you eat and live in sync with your menstrual cycle. The app gives you recipes, fitness insights from Apple Health, and a personal journal, all matched to your current cycle phase. What makes Birdy different: there are no accounts, no servers, no tracking. All your data stays on your phone. Nothing leaves your device. Built together with my girlfriend for women who want to understand their cycle without giving up their most personal data.
Hi, I'm Nemanja Radumilo. I built Birdy because most health and fitness advice is designed around men. Women don't perform the same every day, and that's completely fine. Their energy, nutrition needs, and motivation shift throughout their cycle. But almost nothing out there actually accounts for that.
My girlfriend has been cycle syncing for a while, and when we looked at existing apps, two things stood out. First, they all want your data. Every app promises privacy but still requires accounts and stores everything on their servers. Second, most of them treat every cycle as a standard 28 days. That's not how it works.
So I decided to build something better. I'm not an app developer, so I used Claude Code to help me write the app in React Native from scratch. I learned everything along the way, from Apple Health integration to App Store submission. My girlfriend helped shape what the app should feel like and which recipes to include.
Birdy tailors your recipes, fitness goals, and daily guidance to your actual cycle. No fixed 28-day assumptions. No accounts, no servers, no databases, no AI integration. Your data never leaves your phone. And over time, the app learns your personal pattern.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and what you'd want to see next.
