Who hunted BillingHub?
BillingHub was hunted by Alex Goldwyn. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hi Product Hunt. Alex here, and BillingHub is a one-person product.
The premise is one sentence: you pay per invoice, not per month. Sign up and your first 3 invoices are free, no card needed, and your clients can pay those by card once you connect Stripe. After that, 25 invoices cost $25, and that is the worst rate there is: bigger packs cost less per invoice, and credits never expire, so a quiet quarter costs you nothing. One-time packs never renew. There is also a yearly plan, and that one is a real subscription; I would rather say so here than have you find it out later.
What is in it: invoices, estimates and quotes; a PDF built to look like a document rather than a receipt, with your logo and no other branding; an optional Stripe payment link on the invoice; per-line tax that has to reconcile to the cent; the full ISO currency list, all 156 of them. Estimates and quotes cost no credit at all. You are only charged when you ask someone for money.
If you would rather not sign up for anything, there is a free invoice generator with no account, no email gate and no watermark. If you only ever use that, that is a completely fine outcome.
Who should not buy this: if you send 200 invoices a month, per-invoice pricing gets worse for you, not better. Go and pay somebody monthly. I would rather lose you on this page than in month three.
What I would actually like from you is not a vote. Tell me the invoicing thing that has annoyed you most. I have spent most of this year at the unglamorous end of this problem, zero-decimal currencies where a paid invoice stays unpaid by construction, payment webhooks that never arrive, tax that has to add up per line and not just at the bottom, and the next thing I build should come from a real complaint rather than from my own backlog.
