Hi Product Hunt! I’m a software engineer and the solo maker behind BilingualText.
The inspiration for this came from pure frustration. I’ve been spending countless hours reading dense academic and professional materials to prepare for my Master’s studies abroad. My reading flow kept getting completely derailed every time I had to switch tabs to copy-paste words into Google Translate. I tried existing browser extensions, but they felt clunky or completely broke the original formatting of the articles.
So, I spent my weekends building a solution to scratch my own itch.
BilingualText takes any EPUB or text and generates a clean, side-by-side (or interlinear) bilingual reading experience powered by AI. It completely removes the friction of looking up vocabulary, and you can even export words directly to Anki to review later.
