BetterBJJ
AI-Powered Jiu-Jitsu Companion
Track your BJJ training with voice. Record after rolling, and AI extracts techniques, tracks proficiency across 6 areas, and builds personalized daily plans. Available on iOS & Android.
One year ago the idea came to my head when i realised many others and i left every session having learned max 1-2 techniques and by the next week I'd forgotten half of them. My time on the mats felt plateaued and felt just i was repeating the same techniques in my comfort zone. I had no energy to plan every training and track out what i did after.
I tried journals, note apps... nothing stuck because I never wanted to sit down and type after training. Also there are hundreds of techniques which i did not know about. Other apps were either too gamified or required too much effort and high fees, or they were simply outdated.
So I built BetterBJJ.
The idea is simple: after class, you just record a quick voice note. Talk about what you drilled, who you rolled with, what worked, what didn't. Then let the App figure out where you stand.
The app uses an up-to-date technique library & AI to:
- Extract all the techniques you mentioned
- Log step by step of a technqiue prof taught or you applied.
- Track your rolling time and intensity
- Build a history of your progress over time
- Suggest what positions/techniques need more work
- A technique library with videos added from the community from social media creators
My goal is to make BetterBJJ the app that genuenly helps people track their sessions and progress in their BJJ seamlessly.

BetterBJJ was hunted by Daniel Danaee. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post.
