Been There, 8 That
Your private journal for meals worth saving
Been There, 8 That turns scattered food photos into a private meal history. Save the dish, restaurant, rating, and notes; revisit each meal card with its own map; or discover nearby restaurants through Google Places-powered search. Free includes 12 saved meals; Plus unlocks unlimited meal saves and image saves with meal reviews.
Hi Product Hunt — I’m Megan, the maker of Been There, 8 That.
I love taking photos of great meals, but my camera roll never remembered the useful part: what I ordered, where I ate it, or whether it was worth getting again. After one too many recommendations that sounded like “the place by Target…with the green sign,” I built the food journal I wanted.
With Been There, 8 That, you can save a restaurant, dish, rating, and notes, then revisit each private meal card with its own restaurant map. Your journal is private by default; nothing is public unless you choose to share a meal card.
Been There, 8 That Plus unlocks unlimited meal saves and image saves with your meal reviews for $2.99/month or $24.99/year. The free tier includes 12 saved meals.
I spent four months building it and launched it on iOS and Android two weeks ago. So far, 29 people have downloaded it. I’m trying to reach 100 without paid ads, and I’m sharing the real numbers as I learn how to market something I made.
I’d love your honest feedback: what would make a food journal worth opening every time you eat out — shared lists, a want-to-try list, spending insights, or something else?
Thanks for taking a look. If you try it, tell me the first meal you save.
