I built Bauble because every screen-time app I'd used wasn't working, and I'd
always feel guilty about taking breaks. So I replaced the screen unlock with
micro-learning.
If you're going to take a break, take the break — just access it in a productive way. Just take thirty seconds, and now you know a thing you didn't. It's super customizable with the Anki decks so you can actually learn what you're interested about!
A few details that didn't fit in the post.
🔁 Anki import is the full deal: decks, media, cloze deletions, and spaced
repetition scheduling, all parsed on device. I personally use this feature to refresh my Chinese characters before I scroll.
✈️ It's offline-first and there are no analytics in the app. Your Screen
Time data never leaves the phone
⏱ There's also a focus timer, and a hard mode for when you don't trust
yourself: facts won't buy you out early, the session just runs.
