Hi Product Hunt!
I'm Na'aman (Na-Aman), maker of basemind.
I've been an OSS maintainer for years (Goldziher on GitHub), and for the past couple of years I've quietly been building the LEGO bricks that became basemind. It builds on Kreuzberg (just renamed xberg) for document extraction, tree-sitter-language-pack for 300+ language parsing, and Kreuzcrawl (now crawlberg) for web crawling — a pure-Rust stack I wanted to bring down to local dev tooling and actually use to accelerate how I build.
basemind turns all of that into a context layer your coding agent talks to over MCP. Instead of grepping and reading whole files to answer "where is this defined?", "what calls this?", or "what changed here?", it returns paths, line numbers, and signatures — the structural answer, at a fraction of the tokens. Git history, blame, and per-symbol diffs come along too, plus document RAG and on-demand web crawl in the same place.
The other thing I really wanted: agents running in different terminals — even different tools (Claude Code, Codex, opencode…) — that can actually talk to each other and coordinate. I maintain repos shared across several packages, and I was tired of every agent working blind to the others. basemind gives them a shared memory and a comms channel so they collaborate instead of stepping on each other.
It's open source and installs in one step. I'd love your feedback!

Who hunted basemind?
basemind was hunted by Na'aman Hirschfeld. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
