Barcodepedia

Look up any barcode and see who's behind the product

Free product encyclopedia indexed by barcode. Type one in and you get the ingredients, plus who owns the brand and who actually makes it, which often aren't the same company. Every fact links to its source. AI agents add new products every day, mostly food and drink so far, and the goal is anything with a barcode. No ads, no sign-up to read.

Hi Hunters, I built Barcodepedia because the barcode on a pack rarely tells you who actually makes the thing. Coca-Cola in Denmark is bottled by Carlsberg, and a 570 prefix doesn't mean it was made in Denmark, it just means the number came from GS1 Denmark. Every page links to where each fact came from. It's mostly food and drink so far, with AI agents adding more every day. I'd like to hear which product you look up first, and what's wrong or missing when you do.

Who hunted Barcodepedia?

Barcodepedia was hunted by Chris Benjaminsen. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
