Banners City
The Million Dollar Homepage, one grid per city and country
Banners City is a site made entirely of bought ad space. Every country and city has its own grid of square cells — pick the free ones, choose a size, pay monthly or buy the spot for ten years. Higher rows cost more. EARLYBIRDS: 20% off for the first 1,000 buyers.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Twenty years ago the Million Dollar Homepage sold a million pixels once and
was done. The idea deserved a second life — one where the wall keeps living,
and where it's local.
Banners City is a website whose entire content is bought advertising. No
articles, no feed, no filler. You land on a grid of square cells, and every
banner you see was paid for by somebody.
How it works:
◼ Every country, city and district has its own independent grid. New York and
Lisbon don't share a wall.
◼ You pick free cells right on the page: click a corner, the area you can
stretch into lights up, click again to take it. Sizes go from a single cell
to a full-width block.
◼ The higher the row, the more it costs. Row 1 is the front page of the front
page, and prices fall as you go down.
◼ Pay monthly — or buy the spot outright and hold it for ten years.
◼ Blocks 4 columns wide and 2 rows tall or larger can run video instead of a
still image.
◼ Tag filters rebuild the grid, so "coffee" or "hiring" is one click away.
The scarcity here isn't artificial — the grid grows as it fills up. What's
limited is the top: there is exactly one row 1 per city, and it goes to
whoever takes it first.

Works in every city, one use per buyer.
I'd love to hear two things: which city you'd put your banner in, and what
would push you from looking at the wall to actually buying a cell on it.
