Backlit
Screenshot Capture & Beautifier
Capture tools don't beautify. Beautify apps make you upload. Backlit does both in your browser: capture any region, tab, or full page → instant gradient backdrop, frame & shadow → copy or export. Nothing leaves your machine. Free.

Who hunted Backlit?
Backlit was hunted by Artem Sviridov. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. I kept hitting the same two-step: a capture extension grabs the screenshot, then I'd upload it to a separate web app to put it on a nice background. Two tools, an upload, and my screenshot on someone else's server.
Backlit collapses that into one: 1) capture a region/tab/full page, 2) instantly wrapped in a gradient backdrop, a clean frame, and a soft shadow, 3) copy or export. One click, never leaves your browser.
It's free; I'm a solo maker and I'd love feedback on the defaults. There are a couple of locked "Pro" surfaces (video, HD, custom backdrops) — those are me gauging what people would pay for before I build them, so a tap is a vote, not a checkout.
