Hey PH fam! Wanted to share the latest re-launch and rebrand for ayo.so. Hopefully this will be an interesting discussion and conversation on the whys.

Ayo to date has served over 900K total users over it's lifespan! An amazing feat for a tiny tiny team with no marketing and advertising. This is thanks to our amazing community and OGs that had stuck with us through thick and thin. During the highest growth period (Over 126% week to week!), Ayo introduced monetization plan that really curbed its growth. After re-evaluating the user base, we realized our critical mistake.

1) Competitors: We are in a heavily contested market a very red ocean so to speak. We needed to serve our community above and beyond our key competitors and need to be competitive in our monetization offerings.
2) Userbase: Our userbase span across 3 generations: Older Alphas, Gen Z and Younger Millennials. This group is very different than some of our competitors who caters to older millennials, working professionals and businesses. While we are actually great for business looking to attract a younger audience, we cannot be pursuing more B2B pricing plans.

Thus, we are looking to pivot and rebrand.
1) The overlap for our audience is gaming. While niche, this is an audience that is unserved by major link-in-bio platforms. We are looking for bluer oceans amongst the red sea. Moreover, our current user base are already the ones with interests in gaming, drops culture, music etc. While outwardly, this might seem like a big rebrand, this is actually flowing with where the waves.
2) Monetization and growth strategy needs to work with the audience not against. While we offer more premium plans for our users, our premium plans are just that - premium. They are for the users that don't mind flexing a bit or the businesses that would like more advanced metrics, personal branding and custom domains. We plan to revisit on helping our audience grow their monetization and reach in the future.
3) Focus on growth comes first. We are experimenting gamification, systems our user base is familiar with, to help them get reach and audience for their bio. This places us as partners with our users. Our plan is growing our base first and help them monetize as mutually beneficial outcomes.
4) Make it fun! Most Link-in-Bio tools are starting to fall into the trappings of replacement for traditional business cards and not a showcase of your individualism/personal branding. We want to give our users the tools to make their Bio the way they want it to be.

PH fam, what are your thoughts?
