Do you also think twice before sending things on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram? ... There are many apps where you're concerned. That concern is valid. Now, let's give you something to be awake at night about. If you go to Facebook and click on the hamburger menu on bottom right -> click on your profile -> click on 3 dots next to edit profile-> click on privacy centre -> scroll down to the bottom and click facebook-> search “Your activity off Meta Technologies” and open. I won't show you mine coz I was pretty scared when I first discovered that they are collecting all this information. You'll be baffled at how much information Meta holds about you. Personal data that you never explicitly agreed to sharing with a third-party. If you don't know, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp are all owned by Meta. If you use any one, you can't escape their personal data collection plans. Hell, even if you don't use Meta software or websites they still track your every move. Don't take my word for it, there are countless videos on YouTube explaining exactly how they do it. In fact, Meta's not alone in collecting what you do in your most private matters. All major services like YouTube, Gmail, Discord, etc. do the same. This inspired me to build AvesDrop, a WhatsApp alternative that's built with privacy first principles.
