Authula is an open-source authentication solution that scales with you. Embed it as a library in your Go app, or run it as a standalone auth server with any tech stack. Authula is the only full authentication/authorization solution in the Golang ecosystem. No other library out there provides the number of features and plugins that Authula does. Authula can run as a standalone server for a microservices based architecture or it can run in Library mode for developers to embed the library.

Hey everyone! I’m the creator of Authula and I’m incredibly excited to share it with you all today on ProductHunt! I’ve found that setting up authentication usually forces you into one of two extremes: you either spend days wrestling with massive, heavy identity providers (like Keycloak or Auth0), or you write custom JWT middleware from scratch which almost always misses critical production requirements like proper session invalidation as well as other issues. I built Authula in Go to fill that exact sweet spot. It's designed to be a highly modular, plugin-based authentication engine that gives you full architectural control without reinventing the wheel. What makes Authula different: - Plugin-First Architecture: A plethora of plugins giving you various authentication features out of the box and allowing you to easily swap or extend Authula as you desire without the need to change your core application logic. - Session & JWT Support: Built natively to handle both traditional user sessions (server-side cookies) and JWT tokens. - Lightweight & Stateless-Friendly: It integrates beautifully into microservices and modern distributed architectures without forcing heavy database dependencies onto your workers. - And many more features Authula is fully open-source, and this is just the beginning. I would love to get your feedback on it and what plugins you’d like to see built next. Let me know what you think and if you like what we're building, we'd appreciate your support!
